Life has a way of preparing us for each new chapter. I’ve learned that every challenge brings an opportunity, and change leads to growth. Now, I use those lessons and experiences to guide and support others as they navigate their own journeys.

After 25 years as a dental hygienist, I was ready for a new direction. I wanted a career I could enjoy for years to come. What I loved most was connecting with people and building meaningful relationships, but the work was hard on my body. Real estate seemed like the perfect solution. I’ve always been the friend sending properties to people or letting them know when I spotted a house for sale that might fit their needs. So why not make it a career? What I’ve found is that so much of my background prepared me for this job.
In 2000, I moved from South Carolina to LaGrange, Georgia, leaving behind family and everything familiar. Soon after, I went through a divorce. It felt like I was completely starting over. That season was incredibly hard, but my faith and my church community carried me through and helped me find hope again.
During a Bible study group, I met someone who understood exactly what I was going through—he was facing a divorce too. We became friends, supporting each other through the toughest days. Over time, that friendship grew into love. He had two children and I had one, so we blended our families. By putting the kids first and staying united, we created a home filled with resilience, faith, and gratitude for the new chapter we were given. Going through those hard times brought me to some of the most joyful chapters of my life. God always had a plan for me, even when I didn’t know where it was leading.
My first year in real estate brought many of the same feelings of uncertainty I had back then. It took a lot of faith, trusting that God would put people in my path who needed help. I joined a team to learn the ropes but soon found myself on my own when my team leader stepped away. That was the push I needed to start my own business, and I haven’t looked back since! My business has grown through relationships and referrals. Again, everything happened for a reason.
Having moved, started over, blended a family, and changed careers, I understand many of the challenges my clients face. I know what it’s like to relocate, to search for the right home, and to navigate big life transitions. That’s why I strive to make the home buying and selling process as stress-free as possible, keeping my clients informed and supported every step of the way. I want to be a source of reassurance, solutions, and a trusted advocate they can count on.
Looking back, I see how my experiences prepared me to serve others with empathy and understanding. I truly believe each client is brought into my life for a reason, and it’s my privilege to walk alongside them in such an important chapter of their story.
Family remains at the center of my life. We have great relationships with all our kids and are very proud of them. Our youngest is a REALTOR® in Auburn, Alabama. Our middle daughter is a nursing professor in Ohio, and our son works in tech support in Charlotte.
In my free time, I love being outdoors. That probably started in childhood, when it was hard to keep us inside. We played in creeks, swam in the lake, and ran through the woods. Today, that has translated to taking walks, gardening, and spending time with our two rescue dogs, Waylon and Clark. I am also active in my church, teach Sunday school, and am a member of the local Board of REALTORS® and Chamber of Commerce. Just as I enjoy helping my clients, I love giving back to my community!
For me, the greatest accomplishment is earning my clients’ trust and knowing they feel confident recommending me to friends and family. I truly view this career and working with clients as a privilege. I love what I do! And while I don’t do this job for the awards, it was a huge honor to be voted #1 Real Estate Agent in Troup County in 2025 and top 3% of Georgia MLS members in 2025.
Navigating a move is often one of the most stressful experiences you can go through. But I believe with the right support and by taking a people-first approach, it doesn’t have to be! One of the best ways to do that is by communicating clearly. When you work with me, you will always know what is happening, what your options are, and receive fast answers to any questions. I’m very resourceful, have a great network of local service providers, and coordinate the details behind the scenes so you can focus on the bigger picture. I’m here for you before, during, and long after the transaction is over as your go-to real estate resource!
Sincerely,
Deena Simmons
